Taimur Rehman
A peace activist, Taimur Rehman, is Director Programmer, Shaoor Foundation for Education & Awareness. He has been very vocal about supporting minority rights and countering religious extremism and violent extremism. Taimur also holds the honour of speaking at the House of Lords in England, where he talked about inter-faith harmony. He is widely known and recognized as a Qasid (Messenger) and has been reviving the lost art-form of Urdu literature/poetry narrations since 2011. As a writer, his forte is narrative poetry and at present he is translating his Urdu poetry into English, as well as into Braille. Rehman performed with Iftikhar Arif in a tribute to Josh Malihabadi. He is working on a video series of tributes to such Urdu poets/writers as Mirza Ghalib, Jaun Elia, Gulzar, and others. Rehman believes in a peaceful Pakistan and is part of a nationwide campaign called AmnQalaab, promoting peace through literature and poetry.
