Najam Sethi is a leading journalist, publisher, TV personality, and political commentator, who lives in Lahore. He is a graduate of Government College, Lahore, and Cambridge University, UK. In 2011, he was elected Alumnus of the Year and Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge. Sethi is Pakistan’s most decorated journalist, with three international press freedom awards, including the Golden Pen for Freedom from the World Association of Newspapers in 2009. He is also a recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz, the highest civil award in Pakistan. He remains the Founder-Chief Editor of ‘The Friday Times’, Lahore. Along with Salmaan Taseer, he founded the ‘Daily Times’ and ‘Daily Aajkal’ and remained their Editor until 2009. He is Chairman of the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association and CEO of Vanguard Books. His TV programme Najam Sethi Show on Ch24HD is presently rated among the top political talk shows of the country. Sethi has served as Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister and later as Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board during which time he launched the Pakistan Super League.
