Naseem Salahuddin

Dr Naseem Salahuddin is a trailblazer in Infectious Diseases (ID) and Education. In a country lacking ID expertise, she pioneered the discipline, establishing the ID fellowship program, a professional society, and a renowned journal. Internationally acclaimed for her efforts against diseases like rabies and tuberculosis, she has elevated ID to a sought-after specialty. Beyond diseases, Dr Naseem touched over 50,000 underserved children in Karachi’s katchi abadis, providing education through home schools and a mobile bus school. Many students, especially girls, have become teachers, nurses, and beauticians, delaying marriage, and empowering the next generation.
